Fujitsu Siemens has quietly introduced a new addition to the Pocket LOOX selection of PDAs. The N series from PDAs has seen the innovative Pocket LOOX PDA range expand in functionality with the addition of an integrated GPS wr. One of the initial things we noticed even as we unpacked this PDA had been its small size and many more specifically, its narrow size. It is actually hard to imagine that Fujitsu Siemens was able to pack everything it could, including GPS, into that small form factor. Another feature we loved was the fact that the GPS antenna is made into the body, so there is no need to unfold a ungainly aerial. Looking at the technical specifications with the N520, it features a 312MHz Intel XScale processor that has a 128MB ROM and 64MB or even RAM, all of which will runs on Windows Cell 5.
Just below this 3. 5-inch LCD are most of the common PDA buttons you'll discover on such a unit, including a special GPS button that can launch your GPS computer software. Compared to the other devices in that roundup, we were a little disappointed with the bundle that ships using this device. It only characteristics an AC adapter, USB sync cable and bag. We would have liked to find out the addition of a motorized vehicle charger too. As seems to be the trend with PDA/GPS hybrids, the Pocket LOOX doesn’ t ship with GPS programs. Instead, you can purchase the optional software kit containing a car cradle (car charger not included) as well as City Navigator 4 software even on a 128MB SD Card. While the software worked fine, we much preferred the HandyMap programs, which is also available being a separate purchase. The Jean pocket LOOX N520 performed impressively under our test ailments, but was a little slow on occasion.
